Jared Marcus: Nathaniel West: I grew up in a small town just North of Baltimore, Maryland called Westminster. At the age of 24 I moved to West Virginia where I lived a year and then onto South Bend, Indiana. After graduating a Christian discipleship program, Master’s Commission, I went to work at UPS. While working at UPS, I was offered a part-time position with The Crossing Educational Center and Rob Staley. After a semester of part-time work and a semester of full-time work with The Crossing, Rob introduced him to the Board of Directors at The Post Youth Center. After interviewing, I was offered the position of Program Director which I held for three years before moving into my current role of Executive Director. I have a huge heart for youth, yet more defined, a heart for ‘at risk’ youth.
Nathaniel West Jr. born May 19, 1988 in Canton, Ohio to Nathaniel and Christine West. I am the youngest of five, as well as the only boy. I attended Glenoak High School in Canton, Ohio where I played 3 years of varsity basketball. I received all state, all conference, all city and all district as a senior. I then attended Goshen College and played four years of varsity basketball, 3 as a starter. During my time at Goshen College I received defensive player of the year two times and was all conference selection in 2010. I grew up in the church but didn't actually give my life to the Lord until my sophomore year of college. I have forever had a passion for youth and felt it to be my calling. I now am a proud father of a ten month old son Jaden Rajon Ray West.
